The Dissection of Laiwu Steel’s 125m3 BF
At the end of 2007, Laiwu Steel successfully conducted the blowing-off, rapid spray cooling and dissection investigation of the 125m3 BF, aiming to study the smelting regularity of BF on the condition of high smelting intensity and high PCI rate for the significant improvement of burden in recent years. The behaviors of the lumpy zone, the cohesive zone and the dropping zone in blast furnace were studied in detail by the method of layered removial, stratified sampling and point-by-point sampling. The cohesive zone is of inverted ‘V’ type, the top two layers of which mainly consist of pellets’ bond. There are gaps between its bottom and the furnace wall. Corresponding refractory were injected before shutdown and stemming was used to fill after shutdown, so the raceway was completely reserved, which created favorable conditions for the analysis of raceway’s behaviors and of the distribution of furnace charge. Methods of chink fabrication and pressure segmentation were successfully adopted to observe the whole cross section of the salamander. So, fracture morphologies of the salamander and floating state of coke in the salamander were thoroughly studied, also the erosion shape of BF was determined in detail. Chief condition of the dissection of BF is presented in this paper, which is of significance for further beneficiated burden and achieving efficient, high-quality, low consumption and long campaign of blast furnace production.
