Effects of Ozygen Blast on the Tuyere Working Life in Packed Bed Type Ironmaking Process

A2-D steady-state heat transfer model is built to investigate the effects of oxygen blast on the tuyere working life in packed bed type ironmaking process. Base on the model calculation, due to the higher RAFT and shorter raceway of oxygen blast, the flame temperature of the front part copper tuyere is so high as to beyond the critical security temperature of 673K of copper then shorten its working life. Improving quality of fuel, controlling fuel fine rate in furnace and PCI on tuyere are helpful for prolonging tuyere working life in actual operations with oxygen blast.
