Low Calorific Value Gas for Rotary Hearth Furnace
The low calorific value gas, such as blast furnace gas or producer gas, is introduced for RHF as the fuel, instead of high calorific value fuel, the nature gas or oil, for traditional RHF. It is necessary to preheat the hot blast to over 800℃ by regenerator and/or, at the same time, to preheat the gas to 400℃ by recuperator to guarantee the hearth temperature up to 1350℃. The industrial tests had evidenced that such a technology is successful and reasonable for those countries and areas where the natural resources are limited.
