Solid State Reduction and Electric Furnace Smelting of V-Ti Magnetite Concentrate
Researches on solid state reduction and electric furnace smelting technology of V-Ti magnetite concentrate from Panxi area of China were investigated. The results showed that additive and pre-oxidation processing could significantly accelerate the reduction process. The pre-reduction product was smelted under the conditions of basicity (CaO/SiO2) in the slag 1.2,the content of MgO 6%, the content of Al2O3 9%. The pig iron with 96.90% Fe grade, 99.47% Fe recovery, 0.52% vanadium grade and 80.20% vanadium recovery was obtained. Titanium was enriched in slag with TiO2 grade of 66.13%, which can be used to produce titanium dioxide. This study not only improved the efficiency of pre-reduction electric furnace smelting, but also achieved comprehensive utilization of the V-Ti magnetite concentrate.
