Mazar CFRD Dam:Main Features on Design and Construction

摘要：

This paper presents inherent features of Mazar 166 m high CFRD dam design and construction,located in Paute River at an asymmetric narrow canyon,in the Republic of Ecuador in South America.Current rockfill and face slab specifications have been incorporated at Mazar Project based on numerical and modelling simulations (FEM),and from international practice,during construction designing phase.Key aspects of slab soft vertical joints and the importance to implement a satisfactory drainage facilities at upstream rockfill lower parts,are analysed in this paper.
