Adaptability of Slab Joint Waterstop to Very High CFRD
It has been shown through 200-meter high CFRDs that both slab joint waterstops of sealant filler type and cohesionless filler type have quite satisfatory result,and the sealant filler type joint of Zipingpu CFRD has further behaved excellent in the Wenchuan Earthquake of 2008.Moreover,the conservative Chinese design method of joint waterstop,featuring of being semiempirical and semithe-oretical,has been proven to be suitable in practice. This method claims an independent effect to each defense line of waterstop in joint.Based upon this demand,waterstop experiment of 300 meters high CFRD has been carried out and described in this paper,which have shown the sufficient waterstop effects of a proper designed copper strip,corrugated rubber waterstop and GB plastic filler under the joint action of 300 m waterhead. According to the practice in Gongboxia CFRd and Shuanggou CFRD,the in-situ compactness defect of sealant filling can be gotten over by a sealant extruder,which can mechanically extrude the filler in the joint groove on slope instead of filling by hand.
