Study on Multi-Level Intakes in Lianghekou Project
In this paper,hydraulic characteristics of the multilevel water intakes are studied with one 1:20.66 hydraulic model. All research is conducted in the normal operation conditions and main results are as follows:①Water depth above the stop log gate will be no less than 20 m when gate height is increasing. The intake flow is smooth and no obvious vortex is detected at the back of the gate pier;②The hydrodynamic pressure distribution near the stop log gate and gate pier is close to hydrostatic pressure distribution,and the root mean square value of the measuring point is as low as 1.42 kPa;③The high velocity flow is observed mainly when water depth above the stop log gate is 10 m. The velocity distribution is non-uniform in the vertical flow channel,and the mainstream is close to the downstream wall.Velocity distribution in center section of the repair door slot is uniform and less effected by stop log gate height and the upstream water level;④When getting water without stop log gate or setting up of one to four layers gate,loss coefficient of intake flow ranges from 0.308 to 0.858. The experiment results show that multi-level intakes meet the requirements of the normal operation of power plants,and stop log gate is simple in structure. Therefore,it is feasible to get water from multi-level with stop log gate.
