Blasting Technique and Forecast Model of Stone Gradation for Rockfill Dam
Concrete face rockfill dam (CFRD) has gotten rapid development in China. The key technique of the construction of this type of dam is the mining of rockfill materials with designated gradation by using controlled blasting technique,which differs from open pit mining or quarry blasting. The controlled blasting technique of rockfill material exploitation needs to control not only the maximum grain size but also the gradation of the stone. On the basis of R-R distribution function of blasted particle composition,this paper presents a forecast model of the block size and gradation of the rockfill materials for optimizing the parameters of blasting. The engineering practice shows that the blasting parameters could be optimized by this forecast model,and the engineering effect of grain size and gradation after blasting could be improved.
