Failures of Rockfill Dams

摘要：

Approximately 1600 cases of dam failures are reported in the Western World.Including failures in China and Russia more than 5100 cases can be counted.In the Western World 56 failures of rockfill dams are registered. An overview,case histories and reports of some of them will be presented.For the development of next-generation embankment dam breach models it is necessary to develop a database of high quality realworld dam failure data.May be this future vision will cover only a relative small number of failures,but with the target to obtain high-quality data,identifying errors in existing data bases and harmonize conflicting statements of individual failures.
