Preliminary Analysis for Earthquake-Resistant Performance of Zipingpu CFRD in Wenchuan Earthquake
This paper provided a brief description for main features and seismic geological background of a high concrete -faced rockfill dam (CFRD) at Zipingpu water conservancy project and its major damages in Wenchuan earthquake.Important experiences and learning from practical seismic response and damages of the Zipingpu CFRD were anlayzed and summarized in the following aspects:(Devaluation of earthquake-induced damage,(2) analysis of anti -seismic performance of dam,(3) description of possible earthquake motion input,and (4) several significant implications for anti-seismic design and construction of high CFRD. These are expected to be of benefit to understanding of anti-seismic performance of high CFRD in future.
