The credibility of Value Engineering (VE) depends on professional application of the VE Job plan, especially Function Analysis. Function Analysis involves identifying the functions of a product, process, system or procedure by using a two-word (active verb-measurable noun) definition. This paper discusses the importance of application of Function Analysis and introduces few success stories of creative thinking by properly exercising Function Analysis.
