Remote Working: the New Way of Emission Reduction

摘要：

With a boom in information technology, a new work arrangement-remote working-emerge and tend to be most popular in future. In this paper we introduced some issues as the advantage of remote working from individual level, enterprise level and social level. Then we discussed the estimation of congestion and emission reduction from telecommuting which would be cost-effective to encourage government to adopt this program. The potential workforces fit for remote work were also discussed. At last, we present the methods of managing remote workers with the purpose of helping enterprises launch a successful remote working program. It is founded that manager should equipped remote employees with necessary hardware and soft ware; train remote worker self management; manage by work outcomes and ensure necessary face-toface communication.
