Reflections on Optimal Allocation of Transport Corridor Resources from the Perspective of Network
China is now building its transport underlying network, with planning and construction for many transport corridors unfolding, causing a large scale of corridor resources about to be formed. For this reason, it appears especially important how optimal allocation of corridor resources can be ensured. This article argues that optimal allocation of corridor resources features a typical hierarchy, being divided into the optimal allocation of corridor resources on the level of transport underlying network and that of corridor resources within specific transport corridors, and that rationality and effectivity of the former basically determines the functionality and efficiency of the latter. Therefore, to systematically understand and realize optimal allocation of corridor resources, analysis must be made first from the level of transport underlying network. Functional orientation for transport corridors, among other issues on this level, is the core issue to be addressed. For this, it is necessary to determine functional orientation for transport corridors by using and improving the method of transport location analysis, ultimately optimizing allocation of corridor resources on the level of transport underlying network.
