The possibility and boundary of applying Application of Data Envelopment Analysis in the Performance Evaluation of University Physical Education in Beijing

For a long time, college physical education has been the vulnerable point of higher education. The performance evaluation of college physical education is also mostly subjective and hard to measure. Although some objective statistics and index are used in the evaluation, the situation of resource application is hard to locate in colleges. With 12 colleges in Beijing as demonstration samples, this paper applies Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and makes an effective analysis on the general efficiency of its investment and output. The sample colleges are compared, while the inefficient colleges problem and reason are raised with suggested possible solutions.
