DESIGN OF DATABASE SYSTEM FOR HIGH SPEED MACHINING BASED ON WEB
High-speed machining (HSM) is one of the important aspects of advanced manufacturing technology. It has been developed and is becoming one of the main fields of modern manufacturing. In our country, the research in this field started late; therefore, the actual machining and the experimental research on the machining techniques as well as the cutting parameters of HSM are fewer. The relevant selections of cutting parameters and cutting tools are difficult. This database system is designed by analyzing enterprises’ actual HSM process examples, and is composed of seven major modules. The user may input basic parameters and obtains the corresponding HSM parameters. The users also can learn essentials of HSM including purchasing HSM equipment or control system, cutting tools’ selection, machining process determination, and so on. And the system can determine the tool-path planning automatically by creating HSM process animation or simulating the high-speed milling. The results demonstrate the system is effective to select cutting parameters.
