Study of Content of Selenium in Coals from Baishan Coal Mine in Huaibei of Anhui,China

摘要：

Selenium (Se) is an important element from environmental and biological point of view.It is well known that there is a narrow range between toxic and essential levels of Se in humans (Suhajda et al.,2000;Liu et al.2007a).Keshan and Kashin-Beck are the typical diseases caused by the lack of se.Research shows that the addition of Se with a proper dose could improve immune function dramatically in humans.Because Se can be a two-edged sword when adding Se to diets,it is necessary to determine the Se content in food and even in the ambient environment.
