A Preliminary Investigation of Selenium-accumulated Plants in Enshi City,Hubei Province,China
Selenium (Se) is an essential element for human and animals health (Schwarz et al.,1957).Seleniumaccumulated plants can be a threat to human health,as well be used as a plant-based source of Se for animals or humans in selenium deficient areas.Enshi city in Hubei Province,China,is one of the high-Se areas in the world (Yang et al.,1981).In this study,an investigation of the local dominant selenium-acculuating plants in Enshi was performed to search for plant sources of Se,which could be applied to soils or mixed with feedstuff materials in Sedeficient areas.
