Distribution of Selenium in Residue Landfill and Surroundings from a Chinese Electrolytic Manganese Metals (EMM) Industry

摘要：

Selenium (Se) dioxide is used as an additive to raise the electrolysis efficiency in electrowinning of electrolytic manganese metals (EMM) (Figure 1). Approximately 0.9-2.5 kg Se as SeO_2 is needed to produce one ton EMM.Nearly 17% of Se used is discharged into the environment via the manganese (Mn) residues.
