Selenation Reactions with H2Se Generated by Se/CO/H2O System
It was presented in recent years that elemental selenium (Se) was an excellent catalyst to many carbonylation and reduction reactions with carbon monoxide (CO).In these reactions,CO was supposed to be activated by Se through the formation of SeCO.It was also pointed out that SeCO was easily hydrolyzed to form H_2Se and CO_2 in presence of water and a base. On the one hand,SeCO and H_2Se were regarded as activated CO and H_2 in carbonylation and reduction reactions,respectively;on the other hand,both SeCO and H_2Se could be regarded as in situ generated and activated Se species. They could be incorporated into organic molecule and produce organoselenium compounds.Herein,we would like to present our research results on selenation reactions with in situ generated H-2Se by Se/CO/H_2O system.
