Synthesis of Carbamates/thiocarbamates by Selenium-Catalyzed Carbonylation Reactions
Carbamates are target products of most research in carbonylation reactions of amines and/or nitroarenes because of their potential use in phosgene-free manufacture of polyurethanes. In addition, many carbamates are bioactive compounds. They are widely used as agrochemicals such as insecticides, acaricides, and germicides, and as medicines such as ataractics, antipyrotics, and carcinomas. The monosulfur-substituted analogues of carbamates,i.e.,thiocarbamates,are also important bioactive compounds and widely used as medicines and agrochemicals.Herein we would like to review our research results in synthesis of these compounds by selenium (Se)-catalyzed carbonylation reactions.
