Ezperimental Study on Connective Angles Effect on Linear Shaped Charge Cutting

Base on the mechanism of explosion cutting, and combing with the actual A3 steel plate explosion cutting application, the influence of different connective angles on linear shaped charge cutting was experimentally studied in the closed explosion tank. Further, the mechanism of the effect of connective angles on the detonation transferring between the linear shaped charge cutters was explored. The present results show that when the connective angle is 45°, although the detonation can be steady transferred between the linked linear shaped charges, the steel plate in the connective position has not been cut off; and when the connection angle is 90° and above, the cutting parts of steel plate can be completely cut off by the connected linear shaped charge. Therefore, it is concluded that the connective angle has a significant impact on the cutting effect of the connective linear shaped charge cutters. And the linear shaped charge cutters and their junctions with different cutting ability can be applied to achieve the different cutting purpose.
