Sustainable Mosquito Managment Water Purification Using Botanicals In Different Aquatic Ecosystem

WATER is essential for all life-without it all life would cease to exist.Providing quality is paramount importance to the public.Due to mosquito breeding the water gets contaminated.Mosquitoes are the most single group of insects in terms of public health significance.Mosquitoes are the major Vectors for many diseases such as the malaria, filariasis, dengue fever,Japanese Encephalitis and other fevers.Mosquitoes propagate quite successfully in a variety of aquatic habitats such as drinking Water ponds, man made containers and sewage ecosystem. The study was made to evaluate the mosquitocidal (Anopheles stephensi,Aedes aegytpti and Culex quinquefasciatus) and water purification properties of extracts of A.indica,Vetiveria zizanoides,Moringa olifera,Phyllanthus emblica and Cuminum cyminum.Botanical pesticides will help to kill the spectrum of mosquito larvae in the breeding habitats. Allelochemicals present in the botanicals which affect the biochemical and physiological processes of mosquito system and control the mosquitoes at the breeding sites and at the same time vitamin and amino acids in the plant materials, which nullify the contaminants in the water and makes it Human usage.Hence, plant products can be readily used for mosquito control as well as water purification process in future.
