Distribution of slope pressure on a stabilizing pile with a prestressed anchor cable

A stabilizing pile with a prestressed anchor cable is a common supporting structure use in many landslide control projects. Considering actual mechanical conditions, the analysis of slope pressure on the back of the pile is conducted in two stages: the stage in which the anchor cable is pulled tight and the long-term working stage. For the anchor-cable pulling stage, we adopt a cantilever beam method to analyze the distribution of the slope pressure using an elastic resistance model. The pressure has an approximately linear distribution with a large value upward and small value downward. For the stage of long-term working, we analyze the distribution of the slope pressure (landslide thrust) using an equilibrium limit method for a horizontal microsegment. The pressure is high at middepth and low at both ends of the segment of the pile above the slip surface. The case study shows that the proposed method is reasonable.
