Analysis of normalization behavior of stress strain relation for shear hardening clay
There is a close relation between stress strain relation and consolidation stress level for soils, whether normalization behavior exists or not is decided by the relationbetween normalization factors and initial tangent modulus, and shearing strength characteristics. Based on Ducan-Chang hyperbolic model, normalization behavior of stress strain relation for shear hardening clay is analyzed systematically, then two new types of normalization factors are deduced in theory: (σ1-σ3)uk and (σc)12. When normalization behavior cannt be fulfilled well by conventional normalization factors, the two new types of normalization factors can achieve, so it is worthy of being generalized in practical engineering.
