A modified method to measure geostress of rock mass
High geostress with some geological disasters induced, such as rockburst and large deformation. ln-situ stress measurement is an important factor for the forecast of rock disasters. The rockmass geostress is determined according to Kaiser effect of the rock. This method is applied widely in rockmass engineering. In this paper, the authors found out the principal direction of initial stress with the method of focal mechanism solution and measured the in-situ stress by acoustic emission Kaiser effect test in laboratory. The focal mechanism solution combined with Kaiser effect can overcome the shortcoming of Kaiser effect by oriented rock core. Testing study is made on the rock core of Da xiang ling Niba mountain tunnel with 10kin length and 1650m depth of burial. Results of Kaiser effect combined with the method of focal mechanism solution and conclusion by hydraulic fracturing method are basically coincident. It shows that the method is feasible, more simple ,economical and convenient for measuring.
