Numerical Sheet Forming Simulations from an Industrial Perspective
Aspects of the plasticity in sheet metals relevant to the analysis of forming processes,in particular for automotive applications, are reviewed.Macroscopic features as well as microscopic mechanisms are briefly described. The main approaches commonly used to describe material plasticity in sheet metal forming simulations are succinctly discussed. An application of the use of simple constitutive equations in finite element analysis of a forming process for all automotive steel sheet sample is presented.
