Microstructure and Properties of Cold Rolled Ultra High Strength Dual Phase Steel
The 780 MPa and 980 MPa grade cold rolled dual phase (DP) steels were trial-produced in laboratory. The produced results show that using C-Si-Mn-Cr alloy system and proper process parameters, the 780 MPa grade DP steel (CR780DP) with well mechanical properties can be obtained. The mean tensile strength, yield strength, elongation and n value of the CR780DP steels are 853 MPa,402 MPa,18.4% and 0.26 respectively. Based on the C-Si-Mn-Cr alloy system, increasing the C,Mn content properly and microalloyed with Nb,the 980 MPa grade DP steel (CR980DP) with well strength and elongation can be obtained. The mean tensile strength, yield strength, elongation and n value of the CR980DP steels are 1052 MPa,542 MPa,13.4% and 0.27 respectively. The hot rolled microstructures of trial-produced steels are ferrite and pearlite, and the annealed microstructures are ferrite and martensite island. As the Nb is added in the CR980DP,not only the steels own fine crystal grains, but also the precipitations of Nb have strengthened ferrite and martensite ,which decreases the addition of C and Mn,and ensures the elongation.
