Study of a Cold Rolled Dual Phase Steel with a High Aluminum Amount

In this paper a 600 MPa grade cold rolled dual phase steel with 1.0% aluminum substituting for silicon had been investigated on laboratory scale annealing line. The study of the microstructure shows that the microstructures of the steel mainly consist of ferrite,along with martensite with the content of 20% which distributes homogenously on the ferrite grain boundary. TEM analysis demonstrates that it exists lots of high dislocation density within the ferrite grains surrounded by the martensite. The characteristics of microstructure contribute to this dual phase steel with excellent mechanical properties; Rp0.2 =350—390 MPa,Rm=620~650 MPa,RP0.2/Rm=0.58~ 0.62,A80mm=24%-27%,,n=0.17-0.20,BH2=45~60MPa·
