Measurement and Correlation of the Solubility of γ-Aminobutyric Acid
γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) is a non-protein amino acid that is widely occurred in nature , and has very important physiological functions. In this article, the solubility of γ-aminobutyric acid in aqueous ethanol solution was measured by a synthetic method at temperatures ranging from 288.2 K to 313.2 K and at atmosphere pressure. For the temperature range investigated, the solubilities of γ-aminobutyric acid in the solvents increased with increasing temperature. The solubility data were correlated with Apelblat equation and λh equation. The Apelblat equation can regress the solubility datamuch better than λh equation.
