Macro Issue With Nano/Micro Particles in Drug Delivery

Nano/micro particles have been used for decades as carriers for drug delivery. Most of the current nano/micro particles are made of emulsion technology, resulting in a number of limitations. Recent advances in nanofabrication have allowed preparation of nano/micro particles with homogeneous size distribution. While the advances have been significant, nanofabrication methods need further improvement for effective drug delivery and for scale-up production. This presentation deals with the issues related to current nanofabrication approach for preparation of nano/micro particles for drug delivery. Our recent approach of hydrogel-based nanofabrication method will be described.
