Processing and Properties of Low Firing Ferrite with Glass-Ceramic Multilayer Structure
This paper presents the co-firing behavior and interfacial structure of Ni-Zn-Cu ferrite/Al2O3-SiO2- B2O3 glass-ceramic composites. The effective multilayer structure are proposed to prevent the camber and crack problem due to different shrinkage behavior and thermal expansion coefficient difference during sintering process. Bi2O3 is not only a sintering aid to reduce sintering temperature of Ni-Zn-Cu ferrite but also diffuse into Al2O3-SiO2-B2O3 glass-ceramic to form a stronger bonding at interface after sintering.
