Syncretic Scheme for PAPR reduction in OFDM system

The high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of the transmitted signal of OFDM is a big problem in the application of Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) technology. This paper focus on the popular PAPR reduction technique which include the signal distortion techniques, coding technique, Symbol Scrambling technique to reduce the PAPR. simulations show that each technique has strongpoint and shortcoming. Then syncretic schemes are proposed to improve the performance. The proposed syncretic schemes which are based on the nonlinear and Symbol scrambling technique can make good use of the strongpoint of the ordinary techniques while avoiding their shortcomings. The simulation results show that the syncretic scheme, which is of low computational complexity, can restrain the high PAPR effectively, the BER performances of the OFDM system under the gauss channel are also carried out to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed syncretic scheme.
