Study on Ecological Risk of Heavy Metals in Reclaimed Soils of Mining Area in Xuzhou

This paper applied Hakanson ecological risk index to evaluate heavy metal potential ecological risk in reclaimed land filling with fly ash and coal gangue. Through experiments and sample testing in different positions, seven heavy metals including Hg, Cd, As, Cu, Pb, Cr and Zn were analyzed. The results show that the average of the ecological risk index is 443.21, reaching risk higher degree in reclaimed soil filling with gangue; the average of the ecological risk index is 256.96, reaching medium risk degree in reclaimed soil filling with fly ash; while the average of the ecological risk index is 344.65, reaching higher risk degree in control soil. As a whole, the research area is contaminated by heavy metal, especially the Cd and Hg. It is of great importance to sustainable use, food security, mining area environment of reclaimed lands filling with mining wastes and fly ash into subsided lands.
