Chemical Reaction Mechanism of HCl and Mercury in Flue Gases
A bench-scale experiment was conducted to study the chemical reaction mechanism of HCl and mercury in coal-fired flue gases on an experimental set-up. The test method used here for mercury speciation was Ontario Hydro Method. The chemical reaction mechanism of HCl and mercury in different coalfired flue gas systems was studied in typical constituent flue gas systems. The conclusions are as follows: HCl could praise the conversion ratio of Hg2+ to total Hg in different coal-fired flue gas systems; the higher concentration of HCl could increase the conversion ratio of Hg2+ to total Hg. The chemical reaction mechanism of HCl and mercury in flue gases is that HCl can assist many sub-reactions.
