Phosphorus Distribution and Its Balance Analysis in Lake Nansihu
Phosphorus concentrations in surface and core sediments from the Supper Lake Nansihu were investigated. The results showed that sediments from Nanyanghu Lake and Nansihu Lake had significantly higher TP concentrations than that of Zhaoyanghu Lake. The domestic sewage and industry waste water directly flowed into Lake through Laoyun River and Guangfu River are the main reason for TP enrichment and Agricultural recession is also one of the important reason for the increasing TP amount. Results of phosphorus balance showed that the net phosphorus input values were 448×103-726×103 kg a0-1, and phosphorus amount increased year after year, this resembled the vertical distribution trend of core. Data suggested that most of phosphorus entered into lake were laid down into sediment, and the phosphorus content of lake water was only 1.94%–13.7% of the phosphorus content in sediments, and the net phosphorus values of input mainly contributed by human activities, such as domestic waste water, plant effluent and agricultural sewerage, since 1990.
