Treatment of Wastewater Resulted from Gas Eztraction in Gas Field

Because gas-field wastewater always contains organic polymer existing in drilling mud, it is more difficult to be treated than ordinary oily wastewater. In order to meet the standards for wastewater or injection water discharge, it is necessary to screening more proper reagents and develops more applicable techniques for gas-field wastewater treatment instead of the traditional ways. Overall quality analysis of the gas-field wastewater of a gas field in northern Shaanxi Province was introduced in this paper, and comparison between the screening and existing reagents and techniques was made based on this wastewater quality analysis. It is shown that the reagents consumption can be reduced by 30% if using the proper pharmacy and arranging a separation process between pH adjustment and flocculation, and quality of the treated water could then meet the requirement of related standards.
