Ezperimental Study on the Treatment of Molasses Distillery Wastewater Using Micro-aerobic Biological Treatment Process
Molasses distillery wastewater is very hardly difficult to be treated due to its high CODcr, high sulfate concentration and complicated composition. this work, the micro-aerobic biological treatment process was used and the optimum selection of oxidation-reduction potential (ORP), reflux ratio, and hydraulic retention time (HRT) was carried out. The results showed that the removal rates of CODcr and sulfate were 69.85% and 68.56% under the optimum operating condition (35 ℃, ORP=-400 mV, reflux ratio=100%, HRT=12 h). The sulfide concentration of the effluent was less than 15.0 mg·L-1, sulfur concentration of the effluent 150.0 mg·L-1, the elemental sulfur generation rate 48.16% when the CODcr concentration and sulfate concentration in influent were 7786.1 mg·L-1 and 934.9 mg·L-1 respectively.
