Ezperimental Research on Remediation of Soil Contaminated by Heavy Metal

The electro-remediation method of soil contaminated by heavy metal was researched by means of experiment in this paper, and the characteristic and mechanism for distribution and migration of heavy metal under an electric field were analyzed too. The experimental results indicated that the concentrations of heavy metal changed obviously in soil in electric field and most of the heavy metal pollutant could be enriched and removed in the vicinity of electrodes. And the pH value, etc. in soil were the main factors which affected the effect of electro-remediation. The removal efficiency of cadmium was 90.6% when the experimental voltage was 0.67 V/cm. The pH value closing to the positive electrode changed from 6.9 at initial stage to 2.7 at later stage, and the pH value was on the contrary closing to the negative electrode, namely, changed from 7.1 at the beginning to 10.9 at the last. In addition, the temperature nearby electrodes changed during the process of the electro-remediation.
