Test Study of Pulverized Strontium Slag Used as Addition to Cement

In order to explore the feasibility of the using of strontium salt residue in cement, effects of mixing amount of pulverized strontium slag to properties of Portland cement, such as standard consistency water, setting time, soundness, etc., were studied. Pulverized uncalcinedstrontium slag and pulverized calcined strontium slag at 800 ℃ were regarded as the target of tests. The development law of the active property and mortar strength of the two pulverized strontium slag were also studied. And finally the strength mechanism analysis was given through XRD. Results indicate that both pulverized strontium slag meet the strength requirements of cement active admixture, and do not have any adverse effect on Portland cement soundness, as well as play a retardation role when mixing amount exceeds 30%. Standard consistency water of Portland cement decreases with the increase of mixing amount of pulverized uncalcined strontium slag, but it increases with the increase of mixing amount of pulverized calcined strontium slag at 800 ℃. And the mortar strength of pulverized calcined strontium slag at 800 ℃ is higher than that of pulverized uncalcined strontium slag.
