Application of TTC-ETS and INT-ETS Activities to Characterizing Bioactivity of Sludge in MUCT Process

The typical variation rule of TTC-ETS and INT-ETS activities along the different reaction zones of MUCT process were investigated and analyzed by experiment. The results indicated that the TTC-ETS and INT-ETS activities totally have a gradual decrease along the reactor, but show a certain increase due to the biochemical reaction of DPB and conventional denitrifying bacteria in the anoxic zone 2. The TTC-ETS and INT-ETS activities have a significant correlation with anaerobic phosphorus release, aerobic phosphorus uptake, nitrification and denitrification process.
