A Numerical Model of Soil Moisture Movement under Surface Drip Irrigation Condition
A numerical model of two dimensional soil moisture movements is developed based on axisymmetric Richards Eq. The partial differential Richards Eq. is transformed into a set of ordinary differential equations (ODEs) through spatial discretization. The resultant ODEs are numerically solved by CVODE, a state-of-the-art ODE solver. The model is developed specifically for surface drip irrigation condition, and verified using laboratory experiment data under different dripping rate with reasonable accuracy.
