Development of a groundwater flow simulation system base on RCP mode
MODFLOW is a modular three-dimensional finitedifference groundwater flow model developed by McDonald and Harbaugh (1984) of the U.S. Geological survey. In this paper, some modifications and improvements were made to MODFLOW and a visual groundwater flow simulation system based on RCP (Eclipse Rich Client Platform) mode was developed. The Recharge Package (RCH) in MODFLOW was divided into three parts: precipitation infiltration module, canal irrigation seepage module and well irrigation seepage module, so that these areal recharge can be treated respectively. Input data were organized in manner of scheme to adapt to the demand of water resources management. In this case, one groundwater flow simulation scheme consists of precipitation scheme, groundwater exploitation scheme, vertical recharge scheme, initial condition and boundary condition. The system was achieved with Java based on RCP mode. It provides a simple and clear graphical user interface and accurate calculating results, as well as supplies a reference for development of water resources management oriented groundwater flow simulation system.
