Nitrate and phosphate concentration in muara angke mangrove forest,North Jakarta,Indonesia

The mangrove area in Muara Angke continuously receives wastewater from the up-land through Angke River come from human being activity surrounding which they are containing of organic matter such as phosphate and nitrate. The research aims to investigate nitrate and phosphate concentration at mud in mangrove forest area and also nitrate and phosphate concentration in river waters. Measurements of nutrients nitrate and phosphate and indicators (temperature and dissolved oxygen) were conducted during tide and ebb period along the mangrove forest reserve area and Angke River. The results show that nitrate concentration in mud at mangrove forest, the higher of nitrate concentration when tide period is 1.3 mg/L and lower is 0.2 mg/L. Meanwhile, the higher of nitrate concentration when ebb period is 2.7 mg/L and the lower is 1.0 mg/L. Furthermore, the phosphate concentration shows that in tide, the higher is 2.26 mg/L, the lower is 0.52 mg/L then when ebb period the higher concentration is 8.05 mg/L and the lower is 0.4 mg/L.
