Evaluation of the changes of temporal correlation length of rainfall intensity due to the global climate changes using GCM and TRMM observations
In this paper, future change of rainfall characteristics is investigated in Asian Monsoon regions using super-high resolution Global Climate Model (GCM). Temporal correlation length of rainfall intensity in GCM hourly rainfall is estimated for each present and future prediction. As evaluation of the model characteristics, temporal correlation length of rainfall intensity estimated from TRMM/TMI observation is compared with the GCM present prediction. At the moment, TMI observation has not enough samples and observation frequency to discuss the difference of model prediction and observed rainfall characteristics at the instantaneous scale. The future prospect due to the increase of record length is shown.
