CONFUSION BASED AUTOMATIC QUESTION GENERATION
The phonetic decision tree-based state tying is a widely adopted way to establish a high accuracy CD (Context- Dependent) speech recognizer with HMM (Hidden Markov Model) approach. To obtain a set of reasonable phonetic questions, great contributions from phonetic experts with the knowledge of certain language are expected. It is a time consuming and expensive process which unfortunately happens every time a new phoneme set is defined. This paper introduces an efficient process to automatically generate phonetic question sets by which a CD speech recognizer can achieve same level of performance in comparison to the case of phonetic question set from experts’ knowledge.
