AN IMPROVEMENT FOR BLUETOOTH PAIRING
The Bluetooth has become a popular wireless communication technology. Bluetooth device pairing enables two devices to authenticate each other and establishes a secure wireless connection. However, there are many attacks during pairing process, e.g. man-in-the-middle attacks. In order to improve the usability and security of Bluetooth, This paper presents the standard pairing protocol and analyzes the attacks against this pairing. We provides a strategy of pairing, which uses Elliptic Curve Diffie-Hellman public key cryptography and out of band mechanism. Not only it can simplify the process of pairing, but also improve the security of Bluetooth.
