THE DYNAMIC SOLUTION TO MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE SERVICE CONFLICT BASED ON PRESENCE IN IMS
Service Conflict has been one of the hidden problems in the telecommunication services deployment for years. However, as the amount of multimedia services and other kinds of services grows rapidly, this problem is more and more obvious. In this paper, we highlight the mutually exclusive service conflict in IMS and propose a dynamic solution which can be used to solve this problem: how to select a service from several mutually exclusive services to satisfy subscribers maximally. Presence Information obtained from Presence Server is used in this solution. Presence Server is a typical and generic application server in IMS. Rich information about subscribers and terminals’ current status can be provided to reflect subscribers’ requirements and expectations. According to the proposed weighted empirical formula, the Presence Information can be used to calculate stimulation (i.e. the priority of the service invocation). In the end of this paper, Bayesian is proposed to be as a preliminary proposition in order to apply in the situation: subscribers do not set the weight of the presence attributes.
