A SERVICE ORIENTED VERTICAL HANDOVER DECISION MAKING SCHEME USING MIH

摘要：

Future mobile/wireless Internet is expected to consist of various heterogeneous wireless access networks with different properties to support different types of services. In this paper, a service oriented vertical handover decision making scheme (SOHO) is developed to support seamless and adaptive handover management in heterogeneous network environment. The SOHO scheme can make the handover decision adaptively according to the ongoing service with the help of MIH (Media Independent Handover) services. Extensive simulation experiments show that this scheme effectively guarantees the quality of the ongoing service.
