CRYSTAL GROWTH OF CACO3 ON PS/RARE EARTH COMPOUND HYBRID MEMBRANE

Because of their well-designed morphologies and hierarchical structures, biominerals have versatile properties1,2. A substantial research effort has been aimed at developing a detailed understanding of interfacial interactions associated with biomineralization3,4. Mineral formation at organic surfaces is affected by physical, chemical, and molecular interactions at the organic-aqueous interface. In our research, crystal growth of calcium carbonate on PS/rare earth compound hybrid membranes was investigated.
