CRYSTALLIZATION RATE OF POLY(L-LACTIDE) IN THE GLASSY STATE

Introduction In the molding process from the melt, poly(l-lactide) (PLLA) is solidified in the glassy state because the rate of crystallization is quite low. While aging, it is crystallized, and resultingly the mold products are deformed. In order to use them more widely as one of important sustainable materials, the deforming property is disadvantageous as materials. To improve the property, it is required to make clear the crystallization behavior from the glassy state of PLLA. Here, the rate of crystallization of glassy PLLA is followed by using AFM, DSC and others.
